Eyes opening today on these Burlap puppies!

Always a milestone, eyes opening.

Zinger is proving once again to be a GOOD mama.  She is protective of the babies if Patch gets anywhere near the puppy pen.  She gets between him or any of the other dogs and the puppies. 

Zinger has started to eat better, as Betty said.  It still tastes MUCH better and is much more palatable if the curmudgeon feeds her by hand, but she will sometimes eat out of the bowl!  She is eating string cheese at the moment, but not cottage cheese.  She is always up for vanilla ice cream though, just in case you wanted to stop by with a bowl of it for her!!!!  Kidding, of course.

Just tried to photograph a couple of open eyes, but I'm not sure you'll be able to appreciate any slits with sparkles of light in them.  Try!

Pip earned her Nosework 1 title on Saturday up in Bellingham.  It was fun and would have been much more fun if I hadn't been so nervous!  I made a big error since I was nervous, but she passed anyway and many people said that she was FUN to watch hunt for scent.  She is a hoot!

Bryce did well at the National Specialty.  He took second in the nine to twelve month old class in both Sweepstakes and the regular classes.  Neither time did the dog who beat him even place in the other, so I am thinking he is at least consistent!!!  Sweet boy and people outside the ring loved him and a few are ready to breed to him when he grows up and passes all of his health tests!  He is a pretty nice boy and reminded a bunch of people of Norman, his uncle.  I was pleased and had a ton of fun at the Specialty.

Tate did well at the National Specialty too.  He took first in his class, Open.  Nice boy.  He is Touille's son by Walker.  Nice breeding and it shows.  Star, of course and as usual, showed him to perfection.

Glory is the light colored one behind Morse.  The other two are the big ones, Bat Girl and Seven.  They may be bigger as they are never far from those nipples!!!

Zinger is a GOOD mother.  Takes great care of them.

Fancy is due in two weeks.  Maybe four puppies.  Shaggy girl!

Eight more days, but who's counting?!!!!!

Zinger bred to Burlap puppies due in eight days.  Exciting and scary.  Always scary before they deliver.  I am very much hoping that all goes as before, like a dream.  No, I don't know how many are in there, but I'm sure she is pregnant!  She is acting like a princess again, according to her mama!  Maybe I'll see her today at Nosework, maybe not if she has the vapors!  You know!

Her boy, Bryce has been VERY successful, knock on wood, in the show ring.  He has twice now beaten specials.  He is about 9.5 months old.  Sweet as the day is long.

Happy half year birthday to Rugby and his siblings.  He is owned by Hannah Branigan, kind of.  Harper Branigan may be the real owner!!! 

Another Harper.  This Harper lives in Colorado, not North Carolina and is a funny girl.  She just took breed over specials from the classes and the picture of that win will NOT come up in my downloads and this totally incompetent commuter person (NOT) can't figure out how to get it up on this lineup!!!  Oh well, this one can at least bring a smile to MY face, if not yours!  Isn't she just CUTE?!!!!!!

Bryce, who received his first two points this weekend at the Seattle kennel club shows, loves to play with the puppies.   He is gentle and yet rowdy and they love him!

My new boy, probably will call him Patch!  Sweet and smart and beautiful!

Nearly ready to go to homes and I've been negligent in posting!

The five boys can probably go to homes about March 15!  They will be ready and rootin' tootin" to have fun with their new forever people.

They have taken to the Bosu ball upside down readily.  What would I expect?!!!!!  After all, they ARE Border Terrier puppies.  Sweet babies.

It has been soooo rainy that they have gotten out little.  I'm hoping for a day or so of no rain, someday.  The puppy yard is a wet, nasty, muddy mess!  The dogs are even wearing out the grass!  The birds eat the bird... er grass seed as fast as I can throw it out there!

Saw my new lanai on the side of my house when I was there for about the 1/2 minute I was there.  Or so it seemed.  Next thing, louvered windows.  I hope that they don't leak, and DO let the breeze go through the house!  Fingers crossed.

Planted more bananas and lots of exotic flowers.  Cleaned out one area of philodendron and my daughter accused me of killing houseplants!  True.  I say though that EVERY plant is a weed somewhere and philodendrons are weeds in Hawaii!!!!

It is rain/snowing as I type at this moment!  Hard to believe it was hot there digging out in the yard....  While there it was hard to believe all the snow the east was getting.  The daffodils and crocus are up and some blooming.

Funny, I saw three different patients when I was in Hawaii and one person who had one of my dogs.  Nancy was there with Heddy, so I got my Border Terrier fix off and on.  Small world.  I also attended a Dermatology conference that lasted from 0630 to 1530 every day for six days except the last day when we got out at noonish.  Lots of CME hours!!!

Raining and snowing even HARDER now!!!!
