Gone but not forgotten

Six puppies went to their forever homes this weekend.  Six families are loving on those kids and are excited and happy and housebreaking and training.  Kiss, Fin, Kip, Peace, Tex and Tux went to homes.  I think that Tux is the only one to keep his baby name, at least so far.  Of the ones I know, Peace is now Effie, Tex is now Brooks or Brook for Brukner, a musician/composer, and Fin is Leema.  The others haven't reported in on the names yet.

The leftover three include Reese who will stay with Kathleen for at least the next twenty years according to her contract, Bentley who used to be Gaia and he is going to Vancouver, BC to play agility with Bonnie, and Ipsi, for Eclipse, who used to be Tennessee and who wants to go to the UK to be in Lesley's house with Missie and Tia and Henry.  We'll see what works out.

I was in Boston for six days finishing up my last CNWI seminar to become certified as an instructor in canine Nose Work.  I also met two of my medical school classmates there for a mini-reunion.  We had fun again.  The seminar was very stimulating as they all have been.  Wonderful people, those originators of the game and NACSW.  They are always thinking and making the game better and more fun for our four legged friends.  My dogs love the activity and so do I and all the people I know who do it.

Pictures soon, promise....

Missing the puppies

Kathleen took the puppies and Zinger home with her this past weekend because I went to a Nose Work seminar in Fife with Pip.  Pip and I have FUN, as you might imagine, and we learned a bunch.  Kate and Kathleen got to play with the babies all weekend.  They left Thursday night and will be back tonight.  Whew!!!
Kathleen sent many pictures and called many times to tell me of their escapades.  She had fun with them there and cleaned up LOTS of puppy poop!!!!  Poor Kathleen.

Curmudgeonly later!

Warm, "SPRING" day out there! But, do I get to experience it?!!!!

The puppies and I are inside.  I am working, they playing and sleeping and eating.  What else?!

They get to go home with Kathleen this weekend because Pip and I are going to a Nose Work seminar on Saturday.  Kathleen wants to take them home to show Kate and all of Kate's friends and Ian and CC and Gil.  The puppies will be exposed to a GSD mix and a maybe Briard mix.  Big dogs.  Good experience.

Kathleen may get nothing done this weekend as she will sit and hold them all weekend, most likely.  Reese will be spoiled even more, if that is possible.

Kathleen is training Elli to like Reese by clicking and treating.  Elli has always been afraid of puppies.  Now she isn't, at least not as much!

Well, puppies goodbye for the weekend, and Nose Work 3 seminar here we come on Saturday.  Maybe I will be able to  put up some of the million pictures that Kathleen takes this weekend onto the blog next week.  I'll make sure that they aren't all pictures of Reese!!!!

Happy Weekend from The Curmudgeon

Rascals, all!!!!

They are very active now at seven weeks and one day!  They are also lightening poopers!  I've never had a litter this big so therefore, never had this much laundry.  Not griping, just stating.

They are fast as heck and get my hands with their teeth fairly often.  I'm usually pretty good about avoiding that, but I guess that it is the unfair numbers that has gotten me in trouble.  Somebody suggested filing off the points on their teeth!  I wouldn't, but maybe it is a good idea!  LOL.

I wish that you could all see them get up on the Bosu ball and balance.  It is quite amazing.  They thrive on a challenge.  I get such a kick out of seeing them fulfill the puzzles, etc. given to them and having fun doing it.  I almost think that they are better at getting treats out of one of the puzzles I bought at Clicker Expo last month than the big kids, maybe because they can get to them better.

On another topic, Bard, born July 30, 2014, attended his first dog shows last weekend.  He won both days, and both days were majors.  I was extrememly proud of him.  He acted as if he had been in the ring forever.  I took him to get him used to the ring so that he would be able to go to the National Specialty.  I never expected a puppy to win!  I'm still smiling.  I will take Morse and Jeri to the Bremerton shows and see if they can be as good as Bard was.  Bard is Elwha To B Or Not To Bee, in honor of his late daddy, BB.
