Monday again!!!

Feb. 25, 2013

Well, Henry went to Sammamish in his brand new SUV on Saturday after noon.  He is very lucky and was to become a star on Facetime since his new relatives are down in California.  The update on him is that he is doing very well.  I think he already has Jon and Janet trained!
Then later Saturday Bamboo, now Solo, went up to Bellingham with his new family and their friend Laura and a Rottweiler.  Kris, Zach and Zane will sleep with Solo and Laura will take him to Rally and tracking, etc.  Lucky Solo!  I have gotten such NICE updates on the puppies.  Warms my heart to hear about how they are doing.  Percy, down in Oregon, has taken to watching TV with his new dad, Dan.  Dan said that the TV is 96" or something like that.  Can that be true or did I make that up?!!!  Are they really that big?  Anyway, Percy couldn't have missed it, could he?  Dan thinks he got the best dog in the world, but so do Jon, Janet, Kris, and Zach.  I think Zane will pretty soon too, but he was busy with the iPad!
Tomorrow Zinger, Ono and Pip all go in for the last of their health checks, hip and elbow X-rays and patella exams.  Then we go to the Bremerton shows for the yearly repeat eye exam at the end of March.  Gotta keep the old curmudgeon moving, otherwise she might freeze in place!
Yesterday, Sunday, we had visitors.  Trisa and Doris came out with Trisa's litter of four boys and one girl.  My gang intimidated them a bit since Trisa's litter is only six weeks old or so.  They looked awfully tiny.  Funny how easily I forget how big or little they are at what ages.  It all flows so.
OC signing off for today.

Friday, Feb. 22, 2013

He won Dan's heart when he smothered Dan's face in kisses.  He also was tugging and playing with squeak toys as soon as he got to the house.  Good work, Percy!

He will have a ride to Sammamish to live with Jon and Janet who had to buy a new car for this experience!  Lucky Henry!!!!

OK.  Pictures.  Go take some, otherwise you won't read what I write because all you really want is to look at those cute creatures, correct?
Janie gave up her puppy yesterday so that Angus would have one.  Spencer has a heart murmur and I therefore cannot place him until I characterize it and make sure that he can be placed at all.  Janie is a peach, as always, but had other reasons for waiting for the next litter too.  Angus and his mother, Ann, are exceedingly grateful to Janie.  I don't lose out totally.  Janie is keeping her ticket to come up here that was for picking up the puppy and she and I are going to sight-see anyway.  I'm looking forward to that immensely.  Janie doesn't want a girl, so Deborah is safe since Janie won't steal Cara Mia.  She is threatening to steal Mai though.  All I can say is its a good thing she doesn't want a girl!
OK.  I guess that is all for today.  What has the curmudgeon missed?

2/20/13

Well, yesterday they went to the training center, the who lot of them, and played at Nosework!!!  We taught them that looking in boxes is a GOOD thing.  Now they are ready to pair treats found in boxes with some scent.  If you take your puppy to Nosework classes he/she will become even more confident and outgoing.  They got to play with other puppies four days older than they, Icelandic Sheepdogs.  It was nice to see them curious and interacting.  Not everyone gets to do stuff like that!!!!  These guys are stars!
Today they will have their first vaccinations and they will be checked by my vet to make sure she hears nothing bad in their hearts, etc.  A well baby check.
I'll also find out what each one weighs today.  They will be wormed too.
Trying to find Percy a ride down to Dan.  He is in Albany, quite a way away!
Henry and Bamboo get their forever homes on Saturday.  Lucky ducks, er.... dogs!

One day post Valentine's

Sorry, but someone seems to have left their phone at home, and the phone takes the pictures.  I can't remember what I put on the blog since last Saturday when these were taken.
The gang, for the most part, knows where they are going now.
Henry will go to Portland and be Angus' best friend.
IQ will go to Colorado and be Janie and Trax' best bud.
Cara Mia will go to southern California and be Deborah's and Lola's best friend.
Sunset is thinking about going to Colorado too.
Percy is going to Oregon where he will go to dog shows and agility meets all the time as his new best friend is a vendor!  Talk about socialization!

Haven't gotten to contact anyone else for various reasons.
Can't remember if I put any of these pictures up already or not.  I'll take more this weekend.  Will have help to stack them, etc.  Company coming.
Enough for now,
Curmudgeonville!

No real blog today

Trying to stay on track today because I'm going to Detroit tomorrow to get a sweet little girl born Sept. 19th.  She will broaden my genetic lines.  Impeccable breeding, a Kandu's Burlap of Howay daughter.  I'm excited.
Her call name will be Mai, which means "come here" in Hawaiian.  Her registered name will be Kandu's Cherry Blossom Comes to Elwha.  I like that and it is a pretty name.  Mai is pronounced "my.'

They are definitely cute and sweet and that's more time than I really have!
More Monday with some pictures of Mai, I'm sure!

Grey day today

Nope, this isn't Hawaii!  Kind of cold to take the babies out.  They got to go out both Saturday and Sunday as it was kind of warm then.

I actually see their mother in them a lot.  She is just the sweetest girl in the world.  Laps were made for her and only for her!  Her progeny seem to be related to her in that department!

Someone wants face pictures of the babies.  Here goes, BUT they didn't know that person holding them and they kind of don't look as cute as they normally do as they were kind of guarded.  Does that make sense?
Time to cut their toenails again.
Pip and I go to Nosework this afternoon.
Saturday I go to Detroit to pick up a little girl named Mai, meaning "come here" in Hawaiian.  Kandu's Cherry Blossom Comes To Elwha.  Little grizzle girl.  We'll see how she likes puppies!!!!
It has been a long time since I've had a blue in my house, to keep.  If Cara is good enough, and she seems as if she may be, she'll be the first in over three years.
They are all very cute.  Quite subdued in these pictures.
Time for me to get back to work.  Wish I were a professional photographer for you, but instead, I'm the Old Curmudgeon!
