Maybe Fin's birthday

How can that be, you ask?  Fin was born with the other puppies on Jan. 19th.!!!!!!!!  Well, Betty's granddaughter is supposed to be born today and her "call" name will be Fin also.  Funny how things like that happen.  Awaiting news of THAT anticipated birth.

The babies are developing their personalities fast and furiously.  Sweet as they can be and playful and already smart.  Love it!

Already have someone here for the weekend of socialization.  Ardeth will spend the night and send lots of pictures to her brother.  She has been trying to get him to get another BT for years so that his wife will be happy.  She misses their old BT from many years ago.  They missed out on this litter as these are all promised.  Maybe next litter....

OK.  I know what you really want.  Pictures.  Kathleen took a bunch.

Bunches of people coming to socialize this weekend including younger than I am people....

Hopefully, more Monday.

Weekend company

This was a BUSY weekend.  The puppies spent the bulk of the time on the kitchen floor with humans loving and cuddling them all weekend.  The first to come were Chris and Dan and they loved on them for about three or four hours.  We had fun and had a good visit.

Before Chris and Dan left, Nikki and Claire came along and stayed for a bit until Kim and Carl got there.  Kim and Carl came from the Tri-Cities to visit and smell puppy breath and even spent the night so that they could arise Sunday morning to puppy breath and scones.  After they left Skip came over so that I could groom Morse and he took some VERY cute pictures.  Hopefully I will be able to put those pictures on the blog today.  Lets see if the instructions worked!

After Morse and Skip left, Becky and Drake came over so that I could meet Barclay, their "new" Border Terrier.  Barclay is, I think, eleven and a sweet boy, to be sure.  He is a blue who has almost washed out to white!!!!!  No, I didn't get any pictures!  I enjoyed the visit though.

Thanks to Skip for such nice pictures and for telling me how to get them onto the computer so that they would be available for THIS!

What else? Puppies

Teeth are appearing more and more.  Not surprising.

I took a video this AM.  Not very great, but, I'll get better!

More pics tomorrow, hopefully.  Timetable tight today.

Happy Birthday, Elli

Elli, my daughter's BT, turned fifteen today.  She is Elwha's Cinderelli and is Kathleen's best friend.  Kathleen says that Elli signed a twenty year, renewable contract, so we expect her to be around for a long time more!  Kathleen will be devastated when Elli (and I) are gone.  (I hope to stay around for a long time more, maybe even more than Elli.)  Kathleen treasures every day with Elli and loves her to pieces.

The babies are now officially four weeks old.  Peanut, now Reese, weighed one pound and five ounces this morning.  She is getting cuter by the day.

The puppies spent time in the kitchen this weekend.  I took some pictures, but the blogger is having trouble getting pictures on to the blog, for some reason.  I'll try some more, but don't know if it will do it.  It kept saying there was an error when I put Elli's cake picture up and it took forever to try to get it back from the brink!  I'll try some more!  They are cute.

They have teeth now, at least some of them.  They were all over the kitchen and did not stay on the blanket I put down each time I take them in there.  They are eating a bit of slurry made of yogurt, peanut butter, those little wieners, and honey put through the food processor.  It is funny to see them all plastered all over with tan gunk.  Mom has a time cleaning them off!  She doesn't seem to mind though.

Time to go to class.  Enuf for one day!

Three weeks old today!

Tiny girl weighed 14 ounces this morning.  Going strong!  Eats more often than the others, but it pays off.  I doubt that she gets as much in three feedings as one of the big ones gets in one feeding.

Zinger is getting a bit more reticent to stay with them longer than three hours at a time, whereas at the beginning, of course, it is all I can do to get the mothers to leave puppies even for long enough to go to the yard for elimination duty!!!

This weekend a family came out to see the puppies and put their vote in for which ones they preferred.  They know that I pick the pups, but I'll give them their druthers if it works out.  They took these very nice pictures.  There are four girls in this family.  It will be one LUCKY pup!

Daddy is Levi, GCH Meadowlake Fontainbleau, and both he and Zinger have their CHIC numbers.  That means that they have had all of their health tests done and passed them.  In 2014, Levi was Best of Opposite Sex at the National Specialty.  He is a blue and is VERY nice.  Zinger is very nice too.  I am hoping for a nice puppy for myself to keep out of this litter.  There are five blue puppies and four grizzle.  Two girls are blues.

The puppies are up on their feet walking around now.  They rush to the side of the whelping pen to be picked up.  It IS heartmelting.  They are also trying to steal mom's food.  They should get their teeth sometime in the next week.

Off to dog class with Jeri.

Two weeks, two days old

So, the two little kids today weighed 11.7 oz.  Not bad.  They keep making progress.  The girl seems much smaller than the boy, even though the scale says they weigh the same.  Or, maybe I made a mistake in weighing.  Tomorrow will tell!  The others are over a pound.

Someone asked what their baby names are.  Here goes.  Kip is a blue girl.  She is a bit feisty, it seems to date.  Who knows?  Fin, for infinity because she had an infinity sign on her chest at birth, is a grizzle girl.  Peace is a another grizzle girl and little Peanut is a grizzle girl also.  Kiss is the second blue girl because of the white heads kissing on her chest.

The boys are Tennessee, Texas, Tux and Gaia, Tennessee being the only grizzle boy.  Gaia is the tiny boy and has a small world on his chest.

All the babies seem to be fine and are starting to walk on all four feet instead of just pulling themselves along.  Their eyes are open and all seems to be right on time.

At this age they growl and it is the cutest thing imaginable.  Every once in awhile a TINY bark comes out of the whelping pen.  Cute too.

They are growing up, too fast.

Guess who have eyes!!!

So, yesterday and today nine little puppies are opening their eyes.  The little girl was the first one to get a glittering slit between those eyelids.  Such a spunky little girl!

The litter is two weeks old today.  One little boy in there is a champion squeaker already!!  He can really tell everyone if he is hungry!

The tiny girl, Ms. Peanut, or Spunky, weighed 9.7 oz. this AM.  Think she'll make it?!!!!!  I do!

No, no pictures today.  We'll get some tonight.

Rainy today.
